چکیده

Moulder, James W. (University of Chicago, Chicago, Ill.), Dorothy L. Grisso, and Robert R. Brubaker. Enzymes of glucose catabolism in a member of the psittacosis group. J. Bacteriol. 89:810-812. 1965.-Extracts of preparations of the agent of meningopneumonitis made from infected chick-embryo allantoic fluid contained three enzymes of the pentose pathway of glucose degradation: glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase, 6-phosphogluconate dehydrogenase, and phosphoglucose isomerase. Vertical starch-gel electrophoresis showed that the two dehydrogenases were qualitatively different from the corresponding enzymes of the host. Enzymes of the Embden-Meyerhof and Entner-Doudoroff pathways were not found.

Initial step in catabolism of glucose by the meningopneumonitis agent.

The relative rates of catabolism of glucose and glucose-6-phosphate by intact-cell suspensions of the meningopneumonitis agent, a member of the psittacosis group (Chlamydia), and the properties of the hexokinase and glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase of these suspensions were investigated. It is proposed that the hexokinase is a host enzyme bound to the surface of the meningopneumonitis cell and...

ارزیابی تاثیر درمانی مکمل دارویی حصا-آ(HESA-A) همراه با آتورواستاتین بر روی کبد چرب غیر الکلی در موش صحرایی

Background and Objective: Fatty liver disease occurs due to disturbances in lipid metabolism (increased fat synthesis and halting of catabolism) which eventually leads to the accumulation of large amounts of fat (triglycerides) in liver cells, that if left untreated lead to inflammation and cirrhosis. This study aimed to investigate the effect of concomitant use of HESA-A and atorvastatin on bi...

The Effect of Purslane Seeds on Fasting Blood Glucose and Serum Liver Enzymes in Patients with Nonalcoholic Fatty Livers

Objective: Nonalcoholic Fatty Liver Disease (NAFLD) is the most common form of liver disease in the world and it is one of the liver transplantation causes. The present study aimed to investigate the effect of Purslane seeds on anthropometric parameters, fasting blood glucose (FBS), and liver enzymes in patients with nonalcoholic fatty livers. Materials and Methods: in this clinical trial, 5...

The Effect of 8 Weeks Endurance Training on Myocardial GLUT4 and Liver Enzymes in Type 2 Diabetic Rats

Background: Over the years type 2 diabetes, in addition to causing irreversible effects on various parts of the body, also causes liver dysfunction and increases the risk of heart failure, but due to the lack of physical symptoms, less attention has been paid. So, the aim of this study was to determine the effect of 8 weeks of endurance training on diabetic indexes and myocardial GLUT4 and live...

A New Member of the Psittacosis-lymphogranuloma Group of Viruses That Causes Infection in Calves

From portions of intestine and feces of apparently normal calves, a virus that produces elementary bodies was procured in guinea pigs and in embryonated eggs. Morphologically and tinctorially this virus closely resembled members of the psittacosis-lymphogranuloma group of viruses and it shared a common antigen or antigens with them. Comparison of serological, pathogenic, and other properties in...
